Don't Let Drinking Destroy Vegas Fun

Don't Let Drinking Destroy Vegas Fun. Erin and her bridesmaids journeyed west to Nevada for her bachelorette party. Their idea was to spend the weekend enjoying all the shows and casinos they could find time for.

They did not plan out all the details of the weekend, figuring on approaching their time there as one giant, spontaneous party. They decided to get in on all the craziness and fun that this tourist destination offered.

What they did not plan on was having to retain the services of a Las Vegas DUI attorney. When Erin dialed the number to the Las Vegas DUI lawyer, she was making that call from the police station.

She had been detained some time earlier for driving erratically, and brought into the station when she failed a sobriety test. This was sure to throw a wrinkle into the girl’s plans.

Before the group of girls disembarked at their first casino stop, they failed to have that all important discussion regarding who was to be their designated driver. Among the six girls, no one stepped up to take on that responsibility.

It would have been very easy for one of the girls to volunteer to be the designated driver. Better yet, the girls could have arranged for a cab or limo escort to their various destinations.

They had foolishly concluded that they weren’t going to be doing too much driving so therefore, they would be fine. They forgot to remember that any driving, no matter how short or far a distance, should be done with no alcohol impairment whatsoever.

Bachelorettes and their parties are certainly not the only groups that plan outings to Nevada’s biggest tourist destination. Many couples choose to have their wedding ceremony at one of the countless wedding chapels around town.

Those not opting for a wedding ceremony often plan a trip to the area for their honeymoon. Like bachelorette weekends, wedding ceremonies and honeymoons are events where celebratory drinking can be enjoyed.

Additionally, corporations throughout the country plan conferences at many of the area casinos. These conferences are usually all expenses paid and are offered as a perk to a successful employee.

Exhausted employees with access to free food and beverage can sometimes use the opportunity to overindulge in an effort to relax.

No matter what brings someone for a Nevada trip is, they still have a responsibility to conduct themselves appropriately, even if they have enjoyed a number of alcoholic drinks. Driving after drinking is not the only trouble one can get into.

Too much liquor is not an excuse for behavior. Any unlawful activity practiced while drunk, whether it’s indecency, assault, noise violation, or the aforementioned driving while drunk, are all punishable offenses.

Whether it’s choosing a designated driver or just selecting one member of the group who will remain sober each night, it is just the smart move for groups to have at least one person looking out for the interests of all.

The sober designee can step in and assist if someone’s had too much to drink. He can hopefully help them avoid embarrassing moments, at the least, or worse yet, criminal activity. (*)
